Ettington Park Wedding Photographer
You can’t pose laughter.
I’ve photographed weddings at Ettington Park Hotel, a turreted country house at Alderminster, just outside Stratford-upon-Avon. Ornate interiors, huge windows and historic gardens give a relaxed photographer something new to work with around every corner.
About Ettington Park
- The house: according to the venue, it has impressive turrets, ornate ceilings and chandeliers, and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the grounds.
- Outdoor ceremonies: the Norman church and the Orangery, set among the gardens, are both suggested for outdoor ceremonies.
- Capacity: according to the venue, up to 100 for the ceremony and wedding meal and 150 for the evening party.
- Exclusive use: available, with your own private bar and courtyard. The venue says its two smaller packages aren’t exclusive use.
- Stay and travel: 47 rooms, free on-site parking, and Stratford-upon-Avon station about 6 miles away.
Facts are from Ettington Park’s own website (October 2026). Check current details with the venue.
Light and photo spots
Floor-to-ceiling windows mean beautiful natural light inside, which I use instead of flash so your photos keep the atmosphere of the rooms. The gardens around the Norman church and Orangery make a lovely backdrop for family groups, and the turreted façade is a must for a few portraits of the two of you.
How I’d approach the day
Even on a big estate, I stay out of the way and let the day unfold. I’ll plan timings with you in advance, keep the group photos quick in the gardens, and spend the rest of my time catching the real moments in the courtyard and on the dance floor.
Practical tips
- If you’re planning an outdoor ceremony, agree a wet-weather option with the venue and tell me early so we can plan group shots for both.
- Stay at the hotel the night before to make morning preparation photos easy, with lovely interiors as a backdrop.
