Mythe Barn Wedding Photographer
You can’t pose laughter.
I’ve photographed weddings at Mythe Barn, a contemporary barn venue at Sheepy Magna near Atherstone, right where Leicestershire, Warwickshire and Staffordshire meet. Oak beams, big windows and open countryside make it a brilliant setting for natural, documentary-style photos.
About Mythe Barn
- Setting: according to the venue, it’s set in 150 acres of farmland, looking out over rolling hills and meadows to the River Sence.
- Exclusive use: civil ceremonies can be held inside under the oak beams or outside in the gardens.
- Capacity: according to the venue, 150 seated in the Oak Barn for the ceremony and 150 for dining in the Grain Store, with up to 200 guests in the evening.
- Stay over: a honeymoon suite, plus seven en-suite bedrooms in the converted stables around The Courtyard.
- Getting there: the venue says it’s about 30 minutes from Birmingham, Leicester, Nottingham and Coventry, with free parking for 100 vehicles.
Facts are from Mythe Barn’s own website (October 2026). Check current details with the venue.
Light and photo spots
Barns suit the way I work. Tall oak frames and plenty of daylight mean I can photograph your vows and speeches naturally, without flash. Outside, the gardens and the farmland views give us an open backdrop for family groups, and a short wander into the fields is perfect for a few quiet portraits as the light softens.
How I’d approach the day
Because ceremony, meal and party are all on one site, the day flows easily. I follow along quietly, keep the group photos brisk using your planning questionnaire, and spend the rest of the time catching the laughter in The Courtyard and on the dance floor.
Practical tips
- If you’re hoping for an outdoor ceremony, keep the Oak Barn as your wet-weather plan and tell me early so we can plan group shots for either.
- If the wedding party stays in the courtyard bedrooms, getting-ready photos are simple to fit in.
