Grafton Manor Wedding Photographer
You can’t pose laughter.
I’ve photographed weddings at Grafton Manor, and as it sits on Grafton Lane in Bromsgrove, my home town, it’s about as local as a wedding gets for me. It’s a family-owned Elizabethan manor house with real character, and it gives a relaxed photographer plenty to work with.
About Grafton Manor
- Weddings since 1990: the venue has been hosting exclusive weddings for more than three decades.
- A former chapel for your ceremony: the John Morris Hall was built as a chapel and seats up to 120 guests, with stained glass, pews and a vaulted ceiling.
- Outdoor option: you can also marry outside beside the lake, within 27 acres of grounds.
- Stay over: the bridal suite is included, with up to 14 en-suite bedrooms for family and friends.
Facts are from Grafton Manor’s own website (October 2026). Check the latest details with the venue.
Light and photo spots
A chapel with stained glass gives soft, coloured light, so I keep things quiet and natural during the vows rather than reaching for flash. Afterwards, the front lawn is a lovely open space for the drinks reception, candid group moments and confetti. The lake is my pick for a few unhurried minutes of portraits, especially later in the day when the light softens.
How I’d approach your day
With ceremony, drinks, meal and party all on one site, there’s no dashing between locations. That gives us more time for the things that matter. I’ll plan the timings with you on our call beforehand, round up your family groups quickly on the lawn, and spend the rest of the day capturing what really happens.
Practical tips
- If the bridal party gets ready in the house, it saves travel time in the morning and gives me lovely interiors for preparation photos.
- Ask the venue team about the best spot for an indoor drinks reception in case it rains, so we have a plan B for group shots.
